TOT A CUTIE: Tele photographers Kris Cairns and Douglas Hendry celebrate the start of TeleTots with Claire McGarrigle and her daughter, Emma Carroll.

PROUD parents and beautiful babies helped us get TeleTots off to a flying start yesterday.

Our fantastic competition is up and running again — and the kids are cuter then ever.

Scores of mums, dads, grans and grandpas brought their wee ones along to the Oak Mall for the photoshoot.

And our photographers made sure they got great snaps of all the babies on show.

Doting Port Glasgow mum Claire McGarrigle was there with 16-month-old daughter Emma Carroll.

Claire, from Slaemuir Avenue, said: “It’s just a wee bit of fun. It’s lovely to see all the wee ones smiling and getting their photos taken.

“People who haven’t seen us for a while will love seeing her in the paper.

“I put Emma forward last year and I think she came 20th. I was really happy with that. She’s a wee poser — she absolutely loves the camera. We’re just doing it to see the photo and to have a wee bit of fun.” TeleTots is open to babies up to 24 months old. The competition is free and some great prizes will be up for grabs for the winners.

Last year, over 200 tots had their photos taken in just one day.

And after all the votes were counted, beautiful babes James Low Keogh, Rebecca Leotta and Arran Doolan shared the cute kids crown.

Bill Duff, who works in the Tele’s sales and circulation department, said: “It’s always our most popular competition. We get great support from our loyal sponsors and from Oak Mall manager Phil Chapman.

“People love to see the wee ones in the paper. It’s a really fun competition to get involved in.”

Our TeleTots photo stand is just in front of Game, around from O’Brien’s cafe in the centre of the mall.

Our photographers will be taking TeleTots pictures between 10am and 3pm today and during the same times tomorrow.
