MODEL HOPES: Ashley Scott.

AN INVERCLYDE student bidding to be crowned Miss Scotland faces her toughest test yet.

Language student Ashley Scott has made it through to a shortlist of sixteen glamorous girls all hoping to take the title.

Now voting is under way to find the final top 10 contestants.

Stunning Ashley, 20, from Gourock, and her family have been receiving support from across Inverclyde, according to proud mum, Tricia.

Tricia said: “Everyone has been fantastic already — people I don’t even know have been stopping in the street to wish Ashley well.

“I hope everyone can get behind her. She has done so well to make the last 16 and it would be great if she could make the top 10.”

Ashley, who combines her studies with working in Greenock’s Cafe Balfe, said: “It’s truly nerve-wracking but so exciting.”

To vote for Ashley, phone 09011214410 or text scot10 to 88010.
