By Brian Hossack

TWO teenagers have appeared in court accused of attacking a man by hitting him on the head with a rock and a stereo speaker.

Mark Derrick and Jason Miller, both 17, are alleged to have hit the man with the makeshift weapons before punching him on the head and body to his injury while part of a gang in Gael Street, Greenock.

While also acting with the group, the pair are also accused of recklessly destroying the property of another by throwing stones and smashing windows, as well as a breach of the peace, during the alleged incident on 22 June last year.

Derrick, of Grieve Road, and Miller, of Hillside Road, denied all the charges and are set to now stand trial. They are expected back in the sheriff court at a later date after the trial was postponed when it was called on yesterday.
