MISS Scotland finalist Ashley Scott sent temperatures rising during a ‘good luck’ visit to Gourock fire station.
Smitten firefighters flocked to wish her well on her quest to clinch the prestigious beauty title on Sunday.
The 20-year-old languages student from Moorfoot Drive, Gourock, has been overwhelmed by support from Inverclyde folk.
She said: “It’s so exciting. I can’t believe I’ve come this far — it just seems so surreal. I’d like to thank everyone who has voted for me.”
Ashley will battle it out with another nine girls at Princes Square in Glasgow in a bid to become Miss Scotland and scoop the fabulous prizes that go along with it, including £10,000, a new car for a year and a modelling and PR contract.
But for the moment, she can’t think past getting through the three stages of the grand final, which include a talent round where all girls perform a burlesque dance, an interview and bikini round.
Ashley said: “I’ve been working so hard I just want to get it done on the night and get it over.”
However, Ashley said she has really enjoyed the experience and has made loads of new friends.
She said: “There’s not a competitive atmosphere at all. I would be quite happy to see any of the girls win.”
Gerry Clarke, watch commander and family friend, said: “I think Ashley is the best-looking girl in the competition. She is a lovely girl with a lovely personality. She’s a Gourock girl and we’re all rooting for her at the station. I hope she wins the title for Gourock and Inverclyde.”
