Print Article
DOCTORS’ surgeries in Inverclyde will shut down for an afternoon next month.
GP practices in Greenock, Gourock, Port Glasgow and Kilmacolm will be closed for staff training on the afternoon of Wednesday 11 June from 1pm.
Drs JB Thompson, Kohlhagen and Bartholomew at Greenock Health Centre will be working.
All other non-GP services in health centres and clinics throughout Inverclyde will be running as normal. The NHS 24 helpline —on 08454 24 24 24 — will be in operation during this period for any health queries.
Alan Buckley, head of health and community care at Inverclyde CHP, said: “GP practices and community nursing are looking at ways they can improve the care they are able to offer their patients.
“Community nursing, GP practices and their staff do not often get the chance to learn and develop their skills and knowledge together.”
