QE2: Her memory will live on

FIFTY thousand people turned out to give the QE2 a magnificent send-off on her last visit to the Clyde.
The grand old lady basked in glorious sunshine as droves of admirers gave her a warm farewell yesterday.
The QE2 arrived shortly after noon, escorted by a flotilla of smaller craft.
She berthed at Greenock’s Ocean Terminal to a rapturous welcome as the crowds gathered.
The final farewell saw a brilliant fireworks display light up the night sky as people said a final goodbye to the famous Clyde-built cruise ship.

Christmas comes early to Port

AN investigation has been launched after a young boy with special needs fell from a moving school mini-bus on to a busy Greenock road. The minibus was heading along Inverkip Road, during the rush-hour when the boy fell out and hit his head on the road.
