TERRIFIED shop staff were robbed after being threatened by a man wielding a knife last night.

The robber made off with cash from the Londis store in Inverkip Road, Greenock, shortly after 10pm.

Workers were closing up when the man, who had been seen loitering outside the shop, struck.

The robber is understood to have stolen a three-figure sum of money.

Police said the man was wearing a dark waterproof jacket, with his collar fastened up over his mouth.

DS Sharon Lyon said: “We are appealing for witnesses to this robbery to come forward.
