Happy days: Stewart Greacen celebrates promotion last season. Now he is desperate not to see Morton go back down.

BIRTHDAY boy Stewart Greacen is hoping to receive at least FOUR presents when he turns 25 on Monday - that"s three points and a new contract.

Defender Greacen, whose contract expires at the end of the season, is among five Morton players for whom relegation could mean the end of their Morton careers.

'There are a few of us in the same position,' he said, 'and meetings have been cancelled so we can concentrate on the football.

'We are confident of staying up, even though we are up against the top teams in our remaining games.

'I"ve been at Cappielow for five years and we"ve always been full-time, so going down would be devastating and nobody really knows what would happen.'

Kevin Finlayson, Ryan Harding, David McGurn and Scott McLaughlin are also out of contract at the end of the season, so the team will be full of fighting spirit as these players look to secure their futures.

However, a victory in Saturday"s meeting at Palmerston would be no mean feat, as Queens have beaten Morton in three of the four meetings between the sides this season.

'Queen of the South are flying at the moment,' said Greacen. 'But we beat them last time we played them down there.

'The lads have been talking about that victory in training, it was one of our most outstanding performances of the season.

'Three points on Saturday would be the best present I could get.'

Meanwhile, Clyde increased the pressure on Morton with a superb 2-1 win at St Johnstone last night to go a point ahead of the Greenock men. Saints missed two penalty kicks.
