Port keeper out for six games

Sidelined keeper: Thats Sean Graham of Port Glasgow.
PORT Glasgow Juniors keeper Sean Graham has been hammered by junior bosses after losing his appeal against a red card.
Graham had been given a three-match ban by Central League officials after being deemed guilty of head-butting an opponent during a fiery game against Lanark United in early May.
But Graham protested his innocence, and took his case to a higher level by appealing to the Scottish Junior FA.
However, his plea has now been thrown out by their Appeals Committee, which has ruled the keeper’s case as ‘frivolous’, and has doubled the initial punishment to a whopping six games and a £40 fine.
It would appear they have taken the view that Graham lodged the appeal purely to enable him to keep playing during the Port’s vital run-in to their successful league campaign.
The club’s manager Brian Heron is still backing the player, but it is now down to Graham alone if he wishes to take his case higher still, to the SFA itself.
If the keeper decides to let it rest, he would miss Port’s entire Sectional League Cup fixtures, as well as some league matches, at the start of the new season in August.
