A BACK post tap in by Ryan McGuffie gave the Ton a narrow victory over their local rivals last night.

McGuffie’s goal, capitalising on a spill from Sons keeper David McEwan, brought a positive end to a long week for Davie Irons’ players.

The squad were put through their paces against Hartlepool United, Celtic and Dumbarton over a four day period.

But the team can now enjoy a days rest before the Renfrewshire Cup semi-final clash with Calton YMCA on Monday night.
