Morton 1-1 St Mirren

(St Mirren win 5-4 on pens)

MORTON lost the Renfrewshire Cup on the lottery of penalties after a hard fought encounter with local rivals St Mirren.

A sudden death spot kick save by Saints goalkeeper Mark Howard denied captain Peter Weatherson and meant the trophy headed back to Paisley.

Almost 4,000 supporters packed into Cappielow for what was a carnival atmopshere, complete with pom-pom wielding cheerleaders.
