Wanderers' league start

GREENOCK Wanderers’ league campaign gets under way tomorrow in West Lothian when they travel to Mains Park to meet Linlithgow in the opening match of the National Division Two season.

Linlithgow are a good side, with a decent mix of youth and experience, but last season’s results indicate that Mains Park is by no means a fortress. The scarlet and blacks won 11 , also losing 11, many defeats coming at home.

Doak's superb round

GREENOCK golf professional Chris Doak hit a spectacular round of 62 at the PGA Catalunya near Giron in Spain to keep his bid for a European Tour Card alive and well. His dramatic fourth round score lifted him from 107th place to 23rd. It has been an amazing year for Doak who finished top of the Tartan Tour.
