Phoenix can't put the fire out
Fife Fire 19 Inverclyde Phoenix 6
INVERCLYDE  Phoenix played their inaugural game in Dunfermline against the experienced Fife Fire.
It was the culmination of seven months of hard work by coaches and players to get the team off the ground.
Thirty-four players, coaches and family members headed off to the wonderful new community complex at Duloch for some joint practice before a short game.
Though defeated, the experience gained was immense.
Phoenix’s only touchdown was scored by Fabio Marturano, who caught a long pass from quarter-back James Thomas.
The offence, however, played well throughout and special mention goes to center Jonny Gallagher who gave up zero sacks on the day.
