Mockery of parent councils

Printer Print Article

WHEN school boards ceased and parent councils were democratically elected, did Mr Ian Fraser then inform the councils he would be calling for resignations if these new bodies dared to question decisions taken by elected councillors?

This would appear to be the case in his rantings towards the chair of Greenock Academy’s Council.

Who is he to demand the resignation of a person elected by the parents, having the support of his council on matters raised by parents?

If this director has such powers, it makes a mockery of the parent councils.

Had he been an elected councillor, the clock would be ticking towards the next election.
