AN INVERCLYDE teenager has died after falling down a flight of stairs in a Glasgow concert hall.

Jeremy McMahon, of Inverkip, was critically injured in a fall at a gig at the Barrowland Ballroom on Saturday night.

The 18-year-old was rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary with suspected head injuries but died early on Sunday morning.

Charlie and The Bhoys were performing at the Barrowlands on Saturday night.

The band stopped their performance as a result of the incident.

A police spokesperson said this morning: 'He fell down the stairs and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

'We are not treating the incident as suspicious.' A statement on the Charlie and the Bhoys website said this morning: 'We halted the Barrowlands gig as soon as we learned of the tragic accident on the staircase.

'The matter is now being dealt with by Strathclyde Police and the Barrowland CCTV. At this moment our thoughts and prayers are with the boy"s family.' Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.
