A CLASS act takes to the stage in Gourock this evening featuring two band members who once famously toured with Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty.

Dead Man Fall play at the Caf Continental tonight, presented by the Beatclub.

Two members of DMF - Des McCabe and Jon Paul Brownlow - were in hit band Odeon Beatclub, who released an album and four singles on Greenock indie label Beatclub Recordings.

Many locals will remember OBC supporting Babyshambles at Greenock Town Hall, which led to lead singer Pete Doherty asking them to support on the remainder of the band's Scottish tour.

Beatclub promoter Andrew McDermid said: "There's a real history to them although they are a new band.

"Two of their members were in Odeon Beatclub who were managed by a Greenockian, on a Greenock indie label and played a few gigs here - the big one being support to Babyshambles.

"As a result of that they ended up doing the entire Babyshambles Scottish tour.

Des was a founder member of OBC - I've listened to Dead Man Fall's stuff and you can hear that influence.

"I can't wait to see them play - that's my Easter holidays sorted."

The band have all known each other from school and share similar influences from New Order to new wave and everything in between.

Dead Man Fall self-released debut single 'How Could It Come To This?' in 2012 and plan to follow up with more throughout 2013.

The band are looking for gigs throughout 2013 to showcase their indie/alternative/dance sound and promote the material as it is released.

They are made up of Des McCabe, vocals, loops, bass; Vincent Brownlow, guitar, backing vocals; Jon Paul Brownlow, guitar, backing vocals; and Gareth McLeod, drums and backing vocals.
