INVERCLYDE’s councillors united behind a promotion to encourage more people to join the Dementia Friends campaign.
The group, including health and social care committee convenor Councillor Joe McIlwee, recently underwent training from Inverclyde’s Alzheimer Scotland adviser.
The Dementia Friends initiative aims to train up members of the public to recognise signs of dementia and how to deal with it.
So far adviser Tracy Gilmour has completed training in schools, shops and with local organisations.
