A NEW £4.3m housing development in Gourock has today been given the go ahead.
A total of 41 properties will be built on the site of the former Kempock House residential home off Kirn Drive after Inverclyde Planning Board gave its approval.
Developers Inverdunning Ltd were given the green light by councillors at a meeting this afternoon.
The blueprint includes a mix of detached and semi-detached two-storey properties, with 89 off-street parking spaces.
Kempock House was demolished seven years ago as services in the care vsector were revamped, and the site has lain barren ever since.
Inverdunning Ltd said: “The site has a fantastic location close to various primary and secondary schools, Gourock Golf Course and local amenities.
“The land area measures some 3.5 acres, and our plans incorporate a mixture of terraced, semi and detached housing. House sizes range from two bedroom terraced up to four bedroom detached properties.”
