THE planned roadworks on the A78 in Greenock this weekend will NOT go ahead.
A busy stretch of the road between Brachelston Street and Dunlop Street roundabout was due to be closed on Saturday evening until Tuesday morning.
But Scotland TranServ - the organisation who carry out maintenance on the trunk route on behalf of Transport Scotland - have called if off.
This is the second time the work has been shelved - it was originally due to take place in December.
No new date has been set for the £100,000 maintenance project to begin.
A spokesman for TranServ said: “Due to adverse weather forecast this work has been postponed until further notice.”
