TWO people have been taken to hospital after a head-on crash between two cars in Greenock.
The accident happened in Cumberland Road near Inverclyde Academy just before noon.
The two drivers have been taken to Inverclyde Royal.
Sergeant Laura Stewart of Greenock police said: "The two drivers appear to have minor injuries and were taken to hospital as a precaution."
The two vehicles involved have been left extensively damaged.
The road has been closed while police investigations are carried out and officers are asking motorists to avoid the area for the moment if possible and take another route.
