A LOCAL nursery has been named as one of the best in Scotland.

Enchanted Forest in Inverkip is among the top 10 most recommended child care centres according to a popular website.

It is the second national award for the nursery, which was opened four years, by owners Mariessa and Bernie Devlin.

They scooped the gong from Daynurseries.co.uk thanks to top reviews from their parents.

Delighted manager Sarah Lowe said: “We are absolutely delighted — it is a great achievement and comes directly from the parents.

“We are a like one great big family in here. All the parents say we are like extended family, and that means a lot to us.

“We would like to thank all our families for their support.”

Enchanted Forest Inverkip works in partnership with both Inverclyde Council and North Ayrshire Council to provide funded places for three and four year olds.

They also provide childcare for babies and toddlers, as well as offering after-school care.

Accepting the award on their behalf were young Aidan Galbraith and Max Watson, just two of the children to attend the nursery.

They have both been in Enchanted Forest since they were babies and are now getting ready to go to school.

Sarah added: “It is lovely to see them growing up.”

The Top 10 Recommended Nurseries Scotland award is handed out to those who have the top review scores on the website and is the latest accolade for the pre-five establishment.

The Inverkip nursery, part of a bigger chain of Enchanted Forest Nurseries, had previously won a nursery of the year award from Netmums while it also scored a top set of very good grades during an inspection — making it one of the top performing establishments in Inverclyde.

Enchanted Forest has also been nominated in a number of categories for Inverclyde’s Bee’s Knees business awards this year, with manager Sarah up for Young Emerging Talent.
