A WOMEN’S group proved to be a glass act after meeting a top Greenock artist.
Stained glass expert Alec Galloway is running workshops with the team, who are compiling a historical women’s archive.
The enthusiasts have been creating a series of cards with information about the roles women played in Inverclyde’ past.
They now hope to create a glass window which can illustrate their research further and, with the use of a chain, can be displayed in a variety of venues.
Kay Clark, heritage and cultural co-ordinator with Inverclyde Community Development Trust, said: “We wanted to produce a glass piece to go with the archive. It will be a window with a chain on it so it can be exhibited in the Dutch Gable House and the McLean Museum, and can be used when the group is giving talks to schools.
“The workshops will run for six weeks to design the window which reflects the history of women in the area.”
The final piece will be unveiled in September.
