KIND-HEARTED pupils went for miles to help raise much needed funds for a children’s charity.

All fourth year pupils cycled, rowed and ran in aid of Children in Poverty Inverclyde.

Their tough triathlon challenge raised £300 for the Inverclyde charity which sends families on holiday and offers other support throughout the year.

At the presentation Seumus Lamb, a Children in Inverclyde Trustee, said: “We are delighted with the support from the pupils. This will help us send 108 children on holiday.”

Principal PE teacher Janet Harkness put 120 pupils through their paces as part of their Fitness for Life programme.

But she said: “I am really proud of what we have achieved. All the pupils were very enthusiastic and they were cheering their classmates on.”

The inter-school event takes place every year, with the religious education department helping to select the chosen charities.
