HUNDREDS of jobseekers flocked to a careers fayre at Greenock Town Hall.

Around 17 employers, including local firms, armed services and police, were on hand to give advice.

Eileen McClafferty, from the Department of Works and Pensions, said: “We’ve had a fantastic turnout, quite a few school pupils, so the schools have come on board.

“We had 600 people through the doors by 1.30pm. We’ve also had a good mix of employers and armed forces.”
