WIND power is helping fuel a campaign to send children from Inverclyde on holiday.

Kind-hearted staff at Greenock based 2020 Renewables handed over almost £950 to a local charity.

They organised a number of events, including a sports day to raise money for good causes.

The firm decided to donate the money to Children in Poverty Inverclyde.
One of the organisers, Cheryl Percival, team administrator, said: “We are a local firm and we want to help charities in our community.

“The work that Children in Poverty do is amazing and we wanted to support them. They are so appreciative of our support.”

One of the group’s challenges was to cycle round Millport and then take part in different sports races on the trip. Children in Poverty was set up by local man

Pat Burke to help send families on holiday.

As well as funding breaks, they also raise money to give youngsters Christmas and Easter treats.
