AN historic church spire in Greenock's east end has today been demolished.
The spire at the former Cartsdyke Parish Church was brought down this afternoon.
The church was built in the 1850s.
The building, badly damaged in a fire while derelict in 2009, had previously been earmarked for redevelopment.
