GREENOCK bus firm McGill’s has launched its summer ticket scheme just in time for the school holidays.

From Wednesday June 29, McGill’s has slashed the cost of its kids’ day and weekly tickets across its entire network, offering savings of almost 50 per cent on some tickets.

This summer, all under-16s can travel on any bus, across the company’s entire network for less than 72p per day!

A child all-day ticket will be available at £1, or a weekly ticket costs £5, giving unlimited travel for seven days across all McGill’s buses.

Isabelle Murray, McGill’s marketing and communications manager, said: “McGill’s is delighted to offer these amazing child ticket offers for the entire school summer holiday.

"This year, we have simplified our offer to make it easier for parents with young children and teenagers to buy the ticket that is right for them.

"For the occasional day out across the network, our £1 day ticket offers exceptional value and helps keep down the cost of a family day out.

"For families with independent teenagers, the 7 days for £5 is just the ticket; giving your teenagers some freedom and perhaps even giving the adults a well-deserved break from being a taxi service!”

Isabelle added: “We’ve also launched a great new feature on our very popular free mobile ticketing app which gives parents the ability to pay for mobile tickets using their own phone before ‘gifting’ them to their children.

"Parents can choose to buy as many or as few tickets as they need; giving them to their children as and when they choose or need to – no more looking for change to give them as they dash out the door! The ticket can be activated whenever it is needed for travel.”
