A TASK force of youngsters went on the march to boost funds for their summer programme.
Almost 40 kids who attend Youth Connections took part in a sponsored walk from Burns Square and Leven Road down to Battery Park.
Armed with buckets, they collected donations along the way.
Youth worker Brian Dowds said: “During the school term we offer drop-ins for different age groups and through the summer we put on a programme for three weeks.
We try to go out as much as we can, go swimming or take them to play parks.
“We are a charity organisation and this is a way to boost funds.”
Fern McLellan, 13, pictured right, with Morgan McIntyre, 13, said: “Youth Connections is a good place to go, if we didn’t have it we would be bored and hanging about the streets.”
She added: “Youth leaders don’t do this for the income, they do it for the outcome.”
