TALENTED dancers proved they are a step ahead at a superb summer camp.

Youngsters aged between four and 15 took part at the Pointe Perfect holiday club run by teacher Lauren Hair.

The sessions help students hone their skills in a fun environment over the holidays.

Lauren, who set up the school a year ago, said: “Our school doesn’t close for the summer and we have this intensive week where we open between 10am and 4pm.

“It gives them the time to get to do all the show routines they don’t normally have time for.”

Lauren says the youngsters have been enjoying the course and it gives them a chance to meet up with their friends in the summer.

Fifteen-year-olds Emma Dunsmore and Beth Roxburgh from Port Glasgow are enjoying going along to the school.

Emma said: “Everyone is really friendly and it’s fun.”

Beth added: “Everybody gets along, it’s like a family.”

Lauren says her charges have improved over the last year.

She said: “Most of them only started a year ago and they’ve come on loads.

“Most of the kids who come to the camp are very motivated and they’re all friends outside dancing.

“It also burns a lot of energy — so their mothers are glad about that!”
The school is moving to new premises in Duff Street in Greenock after the summer.
