TOP dance DJ Chris Henry from chart-toppers Ultrabeat has been confirmed to play in Greenock next month.

Chris, pictured, who helped produce hits such as ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ and ‘Feeling Fine’, will play Word Up on Friday September 30.

He will headline the ‘I Am A Raver’ night at the Dalrymple Street venue, which will also feature a string of support acts including local DJs Aaron Bissett and John ‘Fitzyy’ Fitzpatrick.

DJs Rankin, Zitkus and Bad Boy are among the rest of the line-up.

Ultrabeat’s 2003 dancefloor anthem ‘Pretty Green Eyes’ reached number two in the UK and went to the top spot in the dance chart and in Scotland.

The Liverpool outfit –made up of school friends Chris, Mike di Scala and Ian Redman – also worked with Scottish DJ Scott Brown on the 2006 favourite ‘Elysium (I Go Crazy)’ and with Darren Styles on tracks ‘Sure Feels Good’ and ‘Discolights’.

Ian Redman has played Greenock before at nightclub Oxygen, now Cruden Hall, and Chris is also no strange to the town.

A spokesman for the DJ says he’s looking forward to returning to Inverclyde.

He said: “It’s not his first time but certainly a very rare appearance in Greenock. Scottish crowds are always extremely enthusiastic and some of Chris’ best bookings have been in Scotland.”

Tickets for the gig are now on sale now from www.tickets-scotland.com priced £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
