A FORMER Inverclyde Megastars winner blew judges away on the opening weekend of TV talent show X Factor.
Emily Middlemas, who won the local singing contest in 2012 at Greenock Town Hall, appeared in front of judges Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger during Sunday night’s episode.
The 17-year-old impressed with her rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Master Blaster to book a place in the next round of the show.
But it is not the first time the teenage singer has been on the X Factor.
She made it through to the judges’ houses stage in 2014 but was sent home by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and missed out on the live shows.
Emily won Megastars four years ago beating runner-up Rebecca Cameron from Gourock and Greenock’s Alana Pugh who finished third.
The X Factor contestant was presented with her prize by Inverclyde’s provost Robert Moran.
