PLAYERS were in a spin at a taster table tennis session at the Oak Mall Shopping Centre.

Inverclyde veteran Bobby Thomson and other experienced coaches were on hand to offer tips.

Chris Jewell, who helped to organise Saturday’s event, said: “With two tables available and experienced coaches on hand, no matter what playing standard or age, those trying out the taster session had fun and also learned some technique.

“The standard of some young men in particular was high, which meant the experts had a game on their hands.

“For others, it was a simple introduction to a great sport which can be played all of your life and costs little to get started.”
