HIGH schools pupils in Inverclyde joined the police for an exciting week’s work experience.

All six local secondary schools were represented as they went behind closed doors to see for themselves what life is like for Police Scotland officers.

During their week, they sat in on a trial in Greenock Sheriff Court and also spent their time with Constable Kirsty Boyd, top, who is part of the neighbourhood team and works closely with local schools.

The senior pupils visited different departments, including forensics at West of Scotland University and took part in some role-play, to give them a taste of going on a police operation.

The kids were joined by pupils from Renfrewshire schools during the week.
