POLICE have launched a probe after a taxi driver was robbed in Port Glasgow early this morning.
Detectives say that the 35-year-old was threatened by a male with a weapon, who then made off with a sum of money.
The incident happened around 12.45am in Glasgow Road.
Police have released a description of the suspect. He is believed to be aged between 30 to 40, slim with dark brown or red hair worn in a short, back and sides style.
He was wearing a grey top and dark blue or black tracksuit bottoms.
Detectives urged any witnesses to contact them on 101.
