AMATEUR photographers displayed some of their work as Greenock Camera Club started its new session last week.

Images of the power boat event, picturesque views over Skye and a pet dog were some of the photographs which were presented at the meeting at Greenock Cricket Club.

The evening kicked off with club president Heather Sinclair and club member/secretary Campbell Skinner who introduced the news and tips section of the night.

This was followed by a review of the pictures from last season’s digital competition when club members were asked to explain why they had taken their picture, how it was taken and where it was taken.

Campbell said: "This resulted in an extremely informative evening with much knowledge and information passed between everybody.

"After the break club members showed some pictures they had taken over the summer break."

At tonight's meeting, they will be looking at social media and the best way to present and use pictures in this format as well sharing weekly tips and news about photography.

All are welcome to attend the meeting at the Greenock Cricket Club at 7.30pm.

Amateur photographers of all ages and abilities are advised to bring along their camera and some pictures.
