RESIDENTS from a Greenock care home were whisked away to the seaside for a well-deserved holiday.

The pensioners and staff from Larkfield View Care Home, enjoyed a seven-day break to the Craig Tara Haven Holiday Park, just outside Ayr.

Service manager Elsie MacLennan said everyone had a super time.

She said: “There is nothing like a holiday to lift your spirits, and our residents are no different.

“To witness the changes a short break can make to both the physical and emotional wellbeing of the individuals is amazing.

“It was a privilege to be able to share this experience with my staff and our residents.”

During their trip, the residents enjoyed a variety of days out, which included shopping in Ayr town centre for gifts and souvenirs as well as visits to the beach where they sampled ice cream and fish and chips.

At night, the fun continued with a visit to the amusement arcade as well as bingo, quiz nights and dancing.

Elsie added: “I would like to thank my staff for giving up their time to help make this possible.

“This is the first time Larkfield View has taken residents on holiday and #everyone is still talking about it.

“It is certainly something we are all keen to repeat next year.”
