A DYNAMIC dance duo are in pole position to raise funds for a charity close to their hearts.

Pole fitness fans Carly Luke and Stacey Watt are holding a cabaret night tomorrow in aid of the SSPCA. The alternative evening is titled A Night for the Magnificent yet Defenceless.

Carly from Greenock, said: “It’s an alternative charity night, there will be drag, burlesque, pole dancing and circus performer The Magic Juggler.

Comedian Anna Devitt of Britain’s Got Talent fame will be compere for the evening.

Carly and Stacey, both 23, are former pupils of Notre Dame High School and became firm friends though their love of pole dancing.

Carly, a computer business technology graduate, is a pole fitness instructor and Stacey attends the Scarlet Fever classes at Dazzles Dance Studio, while Stacey, from Gourock, has completed an HND in animal care and is going to study to be a veterinary nurse at Edinburgh University.

Carly said: “We wanted to combine our passion for pole, aerial and the outlandish and our love for animals.

“The SSPCA doesn’t get any government funding or lottery funding and really relies on donations from the general public. It’s a charity we’re both fond of, especially because it is based in Scotland and treats all types of animals, not just pets.”

Tickets cost £20 which includes a drink and buffet and they are available from the Tontine reception. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm.

Guests are invited to go along early and get a professional photograph taken in an Alice in Wonderland-themed area before the show.
