CARE inspectors have given an Inverclyde-based autism service top marks.

The autism service provided by Enterprise Childcare received ‘excellent’ grades following an inspection.

Manager Ann Walsh thanked all the staff, children and young people and their families for making the service such a great success.

She said: “We are absolutely delighted to have received this recognition, especially in the year we celebrate our 25th anniversary.

"My thanks go out to the whole staff team for their hard work and commitment and to the children and young people in our care, and their families who contributed their views on the service as part of the inspection process.”

The service, which was set up 11 years ago, provides support for primary school children and young people up to the age of 17 who have been diagnosed with autism.

It provides care for the youngsters during the school holidays and on Saturday afternoons.

In the report, the inspecting officer praised the service.

It states: “An excellent approach to meeting children’s needs which involved staff, parents, children and young people resulted in a safe, inclusive, nurturing and respectful experience for all.”

Throughout the process, the service, which is based in various locations, was visited four times by the inspection officer.
