LOCAL legends The Luci Baines Band have been announced as a special guest support act for Britpop legends Cast in Greenock next month.

The band reformed earlier in the year after being asked to play at Party At The Palace in Linlithgow, sharing the bill with The Proclaimers and The Fratellis.

They have confirmed they will appear at Greenock Town Hall on Thursday November 24 as special guests of Liverpool popsters Cast along with local favourites The Beat Movement.

This will be the band’s only local show in 2016.

Their debut 1996 single ‘Find A L’il Love’ is also being re-released to celebrate 20 years since it first came out on Greenock-based YoYo Records.

It will come out on another local label, Walk Tall Recordings, on Friday November 25, available on 7” vinyl and as a digital download.

David Hanvey, co-promoter of the Cast gig in Greenock, said: “We are over the moon to add The Luci Baines Band to the bill. They have been holding back for something special so the timing of the single release worked out well for all of us.”

The Luci Baines Band features the original line-up of Andy Kerr, Will Gallacher, Robert McGovern, Sami Cushnaghan and Kev Ward.

Tickets for the Greenock show have been selling steadily and are available locally from AdLib Music or online at www.skiddle.com
