POLICE are appealing for help to find a vulnerable woman who has gone missing from her Inverkip home.
Concern is growing for Margaret Fleming who was last seen by her two carers at 6.20pm on Friday night.
Chief inspector Elliot Brown, area commander for Greenock, said police are very concerned about the 36-year-old's safety.
He said: "Margaret is a young woman who is believed to have a degree of learning difficulties.
"She has never been missing before and given her vulnerability, we are very concerned for her safety.
"We understand from the limited information we have just now that Margaret has lived in the Port Glasgow and surrounding areas all her life, however she may not know her way around the area.
"As we continue efforts to understand more about Margaret and possibly why she may have gone missing, we are asking anyone who may have seen a woman fitting her description in and around the area of Main Road, Inverkip at around 6.20pm on Friday.
"It is a rather remote location with only a few houses nearby, however as it's near a main road, I am sure there will be passing motorists who may have seen her.
"We will continue with our searches around the area where she was last seen, as is normal with any missing person investigation.
"We are also trying to locate an image of Margaret to issue to the public to help with our enquiries.
"I would ask anyone who knows Margaret, and who might know where she might be, to contact police as soon as possible at Greenock via 101."
Margaret is described as around 5ft 5 ins in height, with collar length black hair and brown eyes.
She is described as being of heavy build.
When last seen she was wearing a green coloured tartan fleece or jumper, dark coloured jeans or trousers and was wearing 'Karrimor' type boots which were dark in colour.
She also had a black satchel style handbag.

Anyone who can help is asked to dial 101.
