FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a woman who became trapped after falling 6ft into a boat.
Two fire crews from Greenock attended at the scene of the accident at Kip Marina just after 10am on Friday morning.
The woman, who is believed to be in her fifties, fell from ladders as she was trying to get into a boat, which was on dry land.
Firefighters used an aerial rescue platform to lift the casualty to safety.
She was then taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Paul McQueen, a crew manager at Greenock Fire Station, said: "We received the call at 10.02am.
"An aerial rescue platform, one pump and a rope rescue were initially called out.
"The rope rescue was not required so was stood down.
"The boat was on dry land and had been put on a big platform.
"The woman had climbed up a ladder to get into the boat but has fallen 6ft inside the boat.
"We have a stretcher on the aerial rescue platform so we used that to get her out.
"She was taken to hospital for a precautionary check up for spinal injuries."
