CHRISTIANS from churches across Inverclyde gathered this morning to take part in the annual Walk of Witness procession.

Organisers say the Good Friday walk offers people 'the chance to reflect on Christ's final journey'.

It began with prayers at St Mary's Church before the group followed a short route which finished at St John's Episcopal Church.

Organiser Reverend David Coleman, of Greenock West United Reformed Church, said: "The aim is to walk together at a very gentle pace, reflecting creatively on the Passion of Christ, from the point of view of those who were witnesses at the time, based on the Gospel accounts, and on historical scholarship."
