AN Inverclyde-based homeless charity has benefited from a £1,000 donation from kind-hearted local bank workers.
The TSB Port Glasgow branch has organised a number of fundraising events to raise money for their local charity of the year, Starter Packs.
Thanks to their efforts, charity co-ordinator June Glancy will be able to help even more families in need.
Frances Blaikie of the TSB branch said: “We have been supporting them since last September. We raised the funds from bake sales, Christmas and Easter hamper raffles, a sponsored walk, book stall, and selling home-made tablet.
“We have already presented them last year with £100 worth of cleaning products and have raised £1,140 so far.”
Starter Packs Inverclyde work with a number of groups to provide people who are moving from homelessness to a tenancy with many of the things they need to make an empty shell of a flat into a home.
