HOUSEHOLDERS have been warned to be on their guard after houses were broken into in Port Glasgow overnight.
Police say they are investigating sneak-in thefts from properties in the town's Slaemuir Avenue and Auchenbothie Road.
Wallets and money were stolen.
Sergeant Laura Stewart of Greenock police said: "Officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious, or anyone trying doors in the area."
Officers have issued a reminder to local residents about home security in the wake of the thefts.
