A TALENTED young Gourock boy is in the frame for success after winning a UK wide art competition.
Clydeview Academy pupil Ben Kretowicz saw off competition from over 7,000 entrants to win the Tesco Bank Art Competition for Schools.
Ben, who won first place in the S1 to S3 category, picked up his prize at a glittering awards bash in the Stuart Meville College in Edinburgh.
Linda McClelland MBE, education co-ordinator at the National Galleries of Scotland, which delivered the competition, was keen to congratulate Ben.
She said: “The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art is an ideal setting to show off the work of all these young artists of the future, creating such vibrant and creative work right here in Scotland.
“Visitors to the gallery over the summer are in for a real treat.”
Ben’s artwork will now be displayed at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
