STAFF from an Inverclyde company had an ace time with tennis stars Greg Rusedski and two-time grand slam winner Gordon Reid.

The pair served up a night of top class entertainment at the annual Action for Children charity night sponsored by Greenock-based PG Paper.

Former British number one Rusedski and Paralympic gold medallist Reid, who also won the Wimbledon and Australian wheelchair singles titles last year, were the guest speakers at the event in Glasgow.

The event, now in its fourteenth year, raised £91,000 for the charity.

PG Paper sponsored the sports dinner for the eighth year in a row.

Puneet Gupta, the company’s chief operating officer and Action for Children board member, said: “The sports dinner is always a successful evening and we have thoroughly enjoyed being the main sponsors for the event for the past eight years.

“We feel honoured that we have managed to help Action for Children raise a large sum of money to help kids across the country. Having Greg Rusedski and Gordon Reid at the event also made it a very special night.”

Rusedski and Reid made a great doubles team as they were hit with a volley of questions from TV and radio presenter Peter Martin, who interviewed them live on stage.

The annual sports dinner was held in the Hilton in Glasgow on Friday night.
