A GREENOCK theatre took centre stage as film crews shot scenes for hit TV detective show Shetland.
Cameras were rolling at various locations throughout Inverclyde on Tuesday and again yesterday, including at the Beacon Arts Centre and the picturesque Customhouse Quay.
Streets in the west end of Greenock were also used and a section of Kempock Street in Gourock was out of bounds while scenes for the BBC One show, starring Scottish actor Douglas Henshall, were filmed there.
Cast and crew took advantage of the warm, sunny weather as they worked on the fourth series of the show, which is made by ITV Studios.
It is not the first time scenes for Shetland have been shot here.
Customhouse Quay has been used as a location in the past, with cameras also rolling back in March along a stretch of Old Largs Road.
Shetland stars Henshall as police detective Jimmy Perez and the cast also includes Scottish actress Julie Graham.
The show began in 2013 and the new series will feature another six hour-long episodes.
The award-winning programme, based on the novels by Ann Cleeves, has enjoyed global success having been streamed on internet subscription service Netflix, as well as becoming a fixture on BBC One.
It is the latest high-profile production to be filmed in Inverclyde in recent times, with Gerard Butler visiting to shoot scenes for new blockbuster ‘Keepers’ and Martin Compston coming home for ITV drama ‘In Plain Sight’.
