DETECTIVES investigating a targeted fire attack in Langbank have released CCTV footage of a man they are trying to track down.

A house in Dennistoun Road was set on fire, while the family who live there were inside, in January this year.

Footage now released by the police shows a man carrying a long thin object jumping over a fence in Dennistoun Road.

Luckily the family escaped unhurt from the blaze.

The police are conducting a full scale investigation to try and catch the person responsible.

Detective Constable Louise Kane today appealed for information.

She said: “We have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries and we are continuing to assess opportunities to capture CCTV images.

"At this time I am appealing to the public to contact us with any information they may have.

"I would ask anyone who recognises the man in the images to please get in touch, as it is essential that we speak with him as part of our enquiries.”

The fire attack took place late at night on Sunday January 22.

The man in the video is described as white with an athletic build and he was wearing a black skip hat, dark coloured top and light coloured trousers.

Anyone with information about the fire should call 101.
