The crew of the Loch Lomond Rescue Boat were celebrating a cash boost after a Renton Masonic club handed over the proceeds of a recent sportsman’s dinner.
Lodge Leven St John presented the boat’s crew – made up of volunteers on call 24 hours a day all year round – with a cheque for £600.
The rescue boat was founded in 1977 from money donated by an unknown sailor and it is there to ensure a rescue service is provided for the public at all times.
A spokesman for the crew said: “Huge thanks to Lodge Leven St John who last night presented the crew with a cheque for £600. The fantastic amount was raised at a recent sportsman’s dinner and is greatly appreciated by all the crew and committee.”
