The arrested man is in custody at Greenock Police Station.
DETECTIVES investigating an attempted murder in Greenock have made an arrest.
Officers today confirmed they have held a 19-year-old in connection with an alleged attack which happened in Cathcart Street outside Red nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident, which happened around 2am, saw a 20-year-old man suffer serious head injuries.
He was rushed to Inverclyde Royal Hospital.
Officers today said that the victim remains in the hospital, where his condition is described as 'serious but stable'.
The arrested man is expected to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow.
